Core competencies of undergraduate public health officer program
Undergraduate public health officer is expected to:
- Assess community health needs and priority problems
- Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate
- Collect, document, process, analyze, disseminate and
- Conduct or coordinate continuing education, and training Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient service.
- Perform minor surgical and obstetric procedures
- Perform medical diagnostic& therapeutic procedures
- Early diagnosis, basic treatment and referral of difficult cases
- Mobilize individuals, families and communities
- Promote and be engaged in inter-sectorial activities.
- Conduct and participate on operational health research.
- Implement PHC activities
- Organize a team to prevent and control disaster and emergency situations
